CeleRead’s mission is to entice youth to celebrate reading for literacy and enjoyment via celebrity advocacy. In order to do so, our organization honors celebrities who are serving as positive inspirations in the eyes of young people. Each famous honoree is therefore voted on and selected by our board of "junior consultants", comprised solely of responsible children who have pledged to enjoy reading. The primary benefit to the schools and organizations who host our program is the support and accountability that the CeleRead experience encourages.   Through celebratory programs featuring celebrity interaction, we inspire youth to get excited about reading. By personally honoring celebrities who have chosen to be a positive force in society, the children will feel empowered to take the actions necessary—using reading as a powerful tool—to achieve their own life’s fullest potential. Region by region, our CELEBrations will foster a love of reading, encourage celebrities to endorse reading as “cool” and also aid schools in improving student morale and—in due course—grades and test scores. Additionally, CeleRead’s intention is to reach the children who are less likely to have such encouragement. We are a nondiscriminatory outreach campaign fueled by integrity and enthusiasm and we strive to make our CELEBrations inclusive of demographics most underserved by society. Promoting reading for enjoyment through celebrations and celebrity advocacy across all spectrums of society’s demographics is CeleRead’s ultimate goal with an anticipated five year period of steady expansion.
